Quality Controllers

APAC is an innovative post-harvest facility which packs and cool-stores kiwifruit for export and distribution by Zespri International Ltd. Based at the APAC facility and reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be a member of the team responsible for the quality control function of our kiwifruit packing, condition checking and repacking operations as well as orchard monitoring.  The role will include: Product and pest inspections (on site and on orchards)Inspection results data inputReporting results to the grading / production and laboratory teamsMonitoring corrective actionSupervising the grading teamOrchard monitoring work (kiwigreen & pest monitoring)In return we will offer: A great team environmentTraining and development opportunitiesA competitive remuneration rateWe are looking for the following skills and attributes: Zespri Kiwifruit quality qualifications (preferred but training is available)A good understanding of quality control systems and their application in the horticulture industryPost-harvest kiwifruit industry experience, preferably in the quality control fieldWell organised and disciplined with good attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to relate to and work with people from diverse backgroundsBasic computer skillsA willingness to work extra and variable hours including shift workHours are generally 7.30am – 4.30pm but during the main packing season shifts are generally 7.00am – 6.00pm (5-6 shifts per week) or 6.30pm to 5.30am
