Quality & Compliance Manager

Quality Assurance & Control (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Full time About the role: We are seeking a vigilant and process driven expert in Quality and Compliance for a well-known food production company. Our client is a leading brand in fisheries distribution, ensuring food safety, hygiene, quality, and compliance with industry standards. In this role, you will be hands-on in supporting the cold store, processing, and unloading teams to ensure fish processing and storage requirements comply with the Ministry of Primary Industries. As a direct lead to these teams, you will provide ongoing mentoring and support the quality and compliance team in maintenance and development of processes and procedures to mitigate health and safety risks. Your main responsibilities: Lead and promote compliance and Food Safety culture within the business. Provide support, advice, and mentoring within the business to achieve compliance and food safety requirements. Conduct internal audits and facilitate external audits. Accountable for any final sign-offs, regular documented checks, and observations. Monitor and update all quality and compliance programs regularly including implementation of HACCP in the Seafood Industry (HACCP Level 6), supporting programmes, Building WOF's, assist with H&S Compliance, and MPI regulations. To be successful in this role you must have: Working knowledge of Food Safety requirements and HACCP 6. Ability to set up robust quality and compliance processes and procedures across all areas, and ensure these processes and procedures are implemented. High level of communication skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people at various levels, including external contacts and networking. Positive and self-motivated work ethic, being proactive in decision making and articulate attention to detail. NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
