About the Role:
This business is a well-regarded vertically integrated food processor and recognised as a leader in their sector. They are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Site Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure that all processes and products comply with regulatory, customer, and internal food safety and quality standards.
This role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with the Quality Management System, overseeing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead internal and external audits, manage quality documentation, and oversee quality technicians while fostering a high-performing team culture focused on excellence. Your Key Responsibilities will include:
Lead external audits, manage internal audit programs, and ensure adherence to regulatory and customer standards.
Identify, document, and resolve non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions to enhance processes.
Maintain quality records, supervise daily checks, and ensure compliance with procedures, addressing non-conformance issues.
Audit facilities and equipment for maintenance needs, coordinate with engineering teams, and ensure equipment calibration is up to date.
Monitor hygiene standards through swabbing and reporting, verify cleanliness, and address issues falling below thresholds.
Conduct testing ensuring schedules and compliance requirements are met.
Train and supervise Quality Technicians, ensuring effective performance in surveillance and sampling tasks, while providing technical support.
Create quality reports, provide feedback to internal teams, and support external stakeholder reporting for compliance and audits.
About You:
You are an experienced professional in quality assurance, compliance, or food safety, with a track record of managing audits, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. You are detail-oriented and excel at identifying, analysing, and resolving quality issues in a collaborative manner. Your skills include effective communication, technical expertise in quality standards, and the ability to lead and train a team. You have experience with regulatory standards and audits, with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
