Greengrower is an innovative and sustainable business in the agricultural / food production industry. We are looking for a Quality Assurance and Safety Compliance to look after the compliance at our Hamilton growing / processing facility.
This position will report to the Site Manager and will lead the Food Safety and Quality and H&S systems and processes for the site to ensure that our team, contractors and visitors are safe, that compliance is maintained, and customer experience is always met or exceeds expectations.
We are looking for someone with the ability to think on their feet, adapt to the changing day to day demands of a FMCG business, while bringing energy and passion to the role. The role is wide and requires someone who is willing to work as a member of a close team but can work autonomously when required. Flexibility and a can-do attitude are imperative. Focus and attention to detail a must as is the ability to start and finish tasks in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities will include the following: Support the Site Manager to ensure that operations are carrying out the company systems' as intended.Provide day to day technical support to the site.Influence and educate the operations team on how to implement and maintain mature assurance systems (Quality assurance, food safety, and Health and Safety culture)Corrective action investigations and follow up, including any required product disposition action as directed by Senior Management.Investigate customer complaints.Follow-up on any hazards, risks, or incidents appropriately, as required and in a timely fashion.Review SOPs.Conduct scheduled internal and external audits, following the CAR process when required.Support or lead mock recalls.Coordinate all required testing including collection of samples and reporting on results.Pest Management – includes managing contract, coordinating schedule and preventive measures, pest register and follow-up concerns.Oversee QMS and H&S programs.Oversee chemical control compliance- check regulatory compliance, maintain register, labelling and storage.Project work as requiredLiaise with internal + external stakeholders in technical services areas as required.Conduct employee and contractor inductions.Qualification + Experience: Relevant training and at least 3 years' experience OR working experience with clear demonstration of having gained significant job skills.Strong practical knowledge of food industry, internal auditing, analysis, and report writing. Preferably HACCP and internal audit unit standards.Sound understanding of food safety, microbiology, food technology and quality management systems.Understanding of obligations set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.Proven experience in in risk assessment.Proven technical training skills.
