Our client is looking for an experienced Quality and Compliance Manager to lead the quality and compliance team and ensure they meet all statutory requirements and adhere to best practice standards.
About the Company
They company is a privately owned business, based in Mt Maunganui, and has been operating for 30 plus years. They have grown from strength to strength and have built a warm, family friendly culture. They operate food processing and production facilities and have several areas of the facilities that are required to uphold a high standard of quality and compliance across the operations.
About the Role
The main function of the role is to lead the quality and compliance team in ensuring that the company meets or exceeds quality and compliance standards, whilst ensuring the business and its people are fully cognisant of the expectations and requirements.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Review, manage and develop where necessary quality and compliance processes and procedures across all areas of the business
Conduct or oversee internal audits and random checks
Prepare for and be the main point of conduct for all external audits
Manage product traceability tests and any potential product recalls
Manage the supplier approval process and conduct external audits as appropriate
Maintain relationship with all relevant government agencies
Keep up to date with all compliance programmes and reporting requirements
Adhere to or exceed international industry best practice
About You
As part of the leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring all business units are aware of their responsibilities, managing both up and down to ensure the company meets or exceeds the regulatory expectations.
Ideally you will have the following experience, skills and attributes:
3 to 5 years experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of quality and compliance regulations in a food production business, ideally with freezer/blast freezer environments
HACCP (to level 6) and RMP experience
Experience in dealing with MPI
Strong leadership and relationship management skills
Great communication skills
Ability to engage and influence with people from top to bottom of the organisation
High degree of attention to detail
