About the role
As our Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of our purchasing, demand forecasting, and supply chain. Your role will help us continue to scale up our operations to meet growth demand and forecast an exciting future timeline for the company.
Working within the wider operations team of this fastest-growing company, this role oversees the end-to-end management of all supply chain functions. Responsible for purchasing and planning, you'll ensure supplies of raw and finished goods are available within required time frames. Based in Hamilton, you'll be immersed in the manufacturing and commercial aspects of the business and work alongside the Senior Management Leadership on exciting future growth and development opportunities.
Objectives of this role and Responsibilities include:
Receive and verify received orders.
Ensure to store goods correctly by using equipment.
Supervise daily warehouse activities, inventory control, space management, floor productivity, and shipping.
Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and the company's other facilities by communicating with transport partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages.
Ensure the quality of products stored with labeling.
Inventory management including location and stock-takes.
Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives, with the goal of further reducing costs, improving service levels, and enhancing product freshness.
Lead in the smooth preparation, execution, and exiting of seasonal selling events (e.g., Christmas, Easter).
Plan for inventory, purchase inventory, manage the inventory onsite, and maintain the master data associated with it.
Manage distribution through our transport supplier to ensure on-time delivery and identify and mitigate any risks.
Identify spend categories that represent the best cost-saving and value-add opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization in the supply chain.
Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and distributors.
Knowledge of advanced computer skills (MS Office packages), especially Excel and MS Teams.

With substantial experience in procurement, you will have sound knowledge of end-to-end practices and can apply an integrated approach to business objectives. A forward planner, you will demonstrate the ability to anticipate and plan with cross-functional cooperation. Thriving on developing a high-performing team, you are a strong communicator and can influence and demonstrate leadership across the business.

Additionally, you will have:
Experience in procurement of physical products, not just services.
Bachelor's degree or similar relevant experience.
Expert knowledge working with Microsoft Office/Google applications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge in procurement, production planning, and operations planning.
General business knowledge with a strong customer focus.
