About The Role With a degree of independence in your daily duties, and support to develop highly sought after skillsets, this opportunity will set you up for a fantastic career ahead.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining pump stations across Waipa's wastewater network (Cambridge, Te Awamutu and surrounds), Sucker Truck operation and you will also assist our Wastewater Treatment Operators with the day-to-day operation of our wastewater treatment plants.
This will involve a variety of activities, such as completing pump maintenance and repairs, cleaning pump stations, fault-finding issues, maintaining inventories and monitoring performance (reading instruments, collecting/testing samples, and updating plant records). And of course, upholding health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace is fundamental to the job!
Full training will be provided, including the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications on the job.

What's Needed? This role is the perfect career shift for someone with experience in a hands-on role, or with a strong mechanical aptitude. While previous experience in the water or wastewater industry is fantastic, this role provides opportunity for hands-on learning in a supportive environment. We are looking for a motivated team player, with a desire to be out and about on the tools every day.
At minimum, you will need:
a full, clean drivers' licence class 1 (class 4, ideal!),demonstrated experience working to health and safety requirements.So, if you are ready to step forward with our team and start your career, we can't wait to hear from you!
