Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Pukenga - Lecturer in Writing to join Te Kura Tatari Reo - School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies on a permanent, full-time basis.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinating large undergraduate courses.
Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, online, onshore, and offshore.
Conducting writing-focused or related research.
Supervising MA and PhD students.
You will have a PhD in writing pedagogy, rhetoric, professional writing, writing across the curriculum, writing in the disciplines, genre studies, or similar. You will have experience as an effective teacher of writing at the university level. You will be an engaged and dedicated educator, with an interest in research which can enhance pedagogical effectiveness.
Key requirements:
PhD in a relevant field (e.g., writing pedagogy, rhetorical theory, or genre studies).
An active research agenda and publication record.
Evidence of effective teaching at university level.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work inclusively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
