This iho draws off our heritage and is further defined by our turangawaewae, in particular Wellington, Aotearoa, and the Asia-Pacific, all of which are expressed in our position as Aotearoa New Zealand's globally ranked capital city university.Korero mo te turanga - About the roleTe Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Pukenga - Lecturer to join our kahui at Te Kawa a Maui – the School of Maori Studies.The successful applicant will be expected to coordinate and teach courses in Maori Studies or Maori Resource Management. You will also pursue and develop a unique research agenda that contributes to te Ao Maori.Kaupapa Matua – Key Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and potentially postgraduate courses.Supervise post-graduate students to completion.Develop and maintain kaupapa rangahau that build matauranga and contribute positively to te ao Maori.Publish, disseminate, and communicate your mahi to various audiences.Contribute to Haututanga/leadership responsibilities, administrative roles, strategic endeavours, and outreach to hapori. O pumanawa - About youYou are: Motivated, student-focused and collegial.Comfortable in tikanga and kaupapa Maori settings, including the marae, and you are passionate about te reo Maori.Able and willing to teach in core papers of our undergraduate majors.Be comfortable and keen to supervise postgraduate students. Your research will contribute to te Ao Maori and complement the mahi of the school. Ideally, you will have a PhD or be working towards one. You can think strategically, work collaboratively, take initiative and work independently, and you are value- and mission-driven.
