Pukenga Atawhai will ensure whanau undergo a comprehensive assessment of their health needs, collect key information to form the whanau care plan that aligns to whanau needs and goals. Deliver high-quality nursing care and actively promotes health and education. Co-ordinate necessary access to internal and external programs and services, being mindful of the experience for whanau will be culturally supported and uplifting. This is an integral role that contributes to improving health outcomes for Maori and Pasifika populations, working within evidence-based services alongside a cultural model of care that promotes, improves and empowers best health outcomes for wahine, pepi and whanau.Our ideal candidate will have:A current practicing certificate / registration with the The Nursing Council of New ZealandKnowledge and experience using Maori models of practice in health or related fieldsPassion to support whanau to thrive.Have an applied understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in respect of health and community servicesCommitment to ensuring quality service delivery and continual improvementKnowledge of Te Reo me ona tikanga is desirable, support to develop cultural competency on the job in a safe environment to do so is essential to our way working.Effective communication and influencing skills that maintains the mana of whanau.A good sense of humour and able to demonstrate an alignment with nga uara/our values.Good IT skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), good skills using Client Management Systems, and databases.Who we areWe are a dynamic, passionate Maori health and wellbeing team, who are very committed to improving outcomes for Maori, by improving their experience in the health and social services sectors within our communities.
