Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
We are seeking 2x Property Specialists for 12 month Maternity Leave contracts in the Acquisition team.
In the Property division, you will support the acquisition programme for some of AT's most significant projects including Eastern Busway. You will provide in-house property advice and project management into all aspects of property, in particular property acquisition. You'll work on many diverse transformational projects with a wide range of experts in your profession and related disciplines.
Manage the negotiation of agreements for the sale and purchase of land under the Public Works Act (PWA).
Prepare acquisition strategies that consider programme, budget and risk.
Provide high level property advice and guidance to support the achievement of project outcomes and the property acquisition and disposal needs of Auckland Transport's projects.
Identify land requirements and undertake due diligence for land that might be required for projects.
Commission and interpret valuation reports for the land involved.
Risk management through the identification of potential risk areas and developing and implementing the strategies to mitigate these should they become issues.
Forecasting and budgeting on property acquisitions.

A tertiary qualification in Property, Law, Valuation or Business.
Accreditation with relevant professional body desirable.
Experience within the wider property industry as a subject matter expert (2yrs +).
Experience and knowledge of the Auckland real estate market.
You will ideally have property acquisition experience within the public sector or private development but not essential.
Knowledge of the Public Works Act, Local Government Act and Resource Management Act.
Demonstrated knowledge of property valuations.
