Te Whiwhinga a mahi The opportunity We are seeking a bright and energized Project Support Officer to join our P-8A New Zealand Team.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide project management and business services support for the installation and commissioning of the P-8A Training System New Zealand facility at RNZAF Base Ohakea.
The role is due to commence in Sep / Oct 2024 and is permanent part time, with the potential to increase to full time work, if desired, post the successful implementation of the Training System.
Responsibilities Supporting the Project Manager to plan, coordinate and execute the P-8A Training System installation and commissioning. Planning, monitoring and executing multiple activities concurrently. Coordinating and monitoring subcontractors to ensure successful delivery of project outcomes including budget control and ensuring that Work Health & Safety (WHS) standards are met and adhered to. Supporting the Project Manager in ensuring that all WHS requirements in relation to project activities are in place prior to work commencing and managed throughout project execution. Assisting in the performance of risk assessments and the development of mitigation plans. Fulfilling the role of Facilities Security Officer in support of Boeing's Defence Industry Security Programme (DISP) requirements, and coordinating the administration of security vetting for all on-site staff and suppliers. Monitoring and controlling all export-controlled technology and information used in support of the training system. Preparing and delivering monthly program status reports and coordinating project management meetings and site readiness reviews. Experience / Qualifications To be successful in this role, ideally you will have relevant experience working within a complex project environment. Other competencies sought include :
Demonstrated ability to support the development and management of project plans, reports and project communications and the ability to work in construction and new facility project environments. Skills and experience in project scheduling and planning. High level computer literacy skills including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use Microsoft Project, Visio and other business process management tools. Experience in planning to achieve priority outcomes and adapting to changing circumstances. Proven experience within tender evaluations is desirable. Experience in finance management and expense reporting. Previous experience within Defence is preferred. A tertiary qualification in Business or Project Management will be well regarded.
