The ideal candidate will have a background in project management with strong relationship building skills and a talent for developing and overseeing work plans.Objectives of the roleBuild and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, motivation and innovation.Lead projects from requirement definition through to deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation.Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.Establish and maintain relationships with clients by providing regular status updates and communicating any changes or opportunities.ResponsibilitiesMaking and interpret plans, control costs and payments.Establishing and maintaining processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards, and assessing risks.Supervising and directing people working on the project.Assigning and monitoring resources to ensure project efficiency and maximise deliverables.Reporting on project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to the project work plan.Overseeing or organising required equipment and personnel.Ensuring compliance with our Health and Safety policies and procedures.Required skills and qualificationsStrong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelinesProven success working with all levels of managementPassionate and committed to contributing to excellence in the civil construction industryExcellent people management with a collaborative work styleAbout usPaul Smith Earthmoving specialises in earthmoving, excavation, demolition, drainage, construction, contaminated site remediation, track and road maintenance, landscaping, rock supply, landfill management, trucking, and transport works.We employ over 200 staff based throughout our Timaru, Ashburton, Christchurch, Greymouth, Twizel, Central Otago and Gore offices.
