Our Opportunity: Be part of New Zealand's renewable energy future as a key member of our Generation Project Management Team where you will report to the Programme Manager and be part of a team who are responsible for all aspects of project delivery across a variety of generation projects within Mercury. This role has the unique opportunity to focus on the delivery of project work under the Taupo Control Gates (TCG) Programme. You'll be working on complex challenges on how we manage aging infrastructure in New Zealand, which will involve you leading a team of local and international consultants and collaborating with external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. The project work will provide you with practical exposure to international standards/processes and different ways of working - helping to build your own skills and expertise. On these projects you'll be part of a multi-functional team comprised of Mercury and consultant engineers, stakeholder engagement, and environmental leads and work closely with our Iwi Relationship Managers, all of whom are supportive and eager to share their knowledge. This is an exciting Programme to be part of which will have a real impact on our local communities and our hydro stations. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience managing civil engineering projects from start to finish and looking to transfer their skills to a new industry or to continue to grow their skills in the energy sector. While preference is for this role to be based in Taupo, there is flexibility to also be based in Hamilton or Rotorua, close to our generation stations. Key responsibilities include: All aspects of project delivery across a variety of projects within a Programme of Works, with particular focus on civil engineering projects and developing business cases Plan projects in accordance with best project management practice including the development of bespoke project lifecycles, detailed project charters and business cases Project Management - Safe design and execution of Mercury generation projects with strong commercial acumen, delivering long-term value to Mercury. Stakeholder Management - Managing the relationships between customers, project teams, contractors, Iwi Partners and external stakeholders to meet overall Mercury objectives. Setting up and managing key contracts and contractor relationships. We are looking for: Project management for the delivery of civil engineering projects (developing business cases, external stakeholder engagement and carrying forward endorsed option to implementation) Strong stakeholder management - experience collaborating with councils and Iwi is an advantage Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field (preferred) A cross functional and critical thinker who challenges the norm and takes ownership to proactively manage risks and drives commercial value Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
