We're seeking a Project Manager to deliver excellence across a diverse project portfolio. In this role, you'll manage high-stakes development projects spanning software integrated with hardware, multi-partner development initiatives, and full design-to-manufacture product development. Your ability to deliver results across these areas is essential to driving success for both Tait and our customers.
As a key collaborator, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including external partners, software and hardware architects, product managers, ICT and service professionals, manufacturing teams, and sales and marketing specialists. Navigating complex stakeholder relationships will be second nature, and your expertise will ensure seamless coordination of timelines, resources, budgets, and risks. Clear communication and a strategic mindset are vital to delivering innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
This role reports to the Director of Engineering Projects.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and deliver excellence across diverse project portfolios by managing complex software-hardware integration projects, multi-partner initiatives, and design-to-manufacture solutions with precision and adaptability.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in the NZ Head Office and in regions (for example, software & hardware architects and engineers, product managers, manufacturing teams, ICT & service delivery experts, sales, and marketing teams) and overseas partners to ensure the seamless development and delivery of innovative products and solutions.Drive transformational results by combining a sense of urgency with innovative thinking - consistently challenging conventional approaches, finding creative solutions to accelerate delivery, and inspiring teams to push beyond traditional boundaries while maintaining unwavering focus on time-critical deliverables.Provide strategic oversight while ensuring hands-on project governance, maintaining quality, managing risks, and aligning stakeholders across initiatives.Leverage expertise in Agile and other project methodologies to adapt delivery frameworks to meet the unique demands of each project.Oversee the full product lifecycle, from conception to production, delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.O Pukenga - About You To excel in this role, you'll hold an Engineering or Technology degree and bring substantial experience in project management and system engineering.
What You'll Need: 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading cross-functional teams in product or solution development.5+ years of people leadership experience.A proven track record of delivering multiple projects simultaneously across several project categories (software projects with hardware integration, multi-partner development projects, and end-to-end design-to-manufacture product development projects) is essential.Comprehensive understanding of product development processes for manufacturable hardware and software products.Proven expertise in project tools like MS Project and Jira.Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.Experience implementing Agile practices across distributed teams.Commercial acumen and financial management skills.PMI, Prince2, or tertiary business qualifications (advantageous).Nga Painga - What's in it for You?
