About the Role: Due to significant growth, we are seeking a motivated Project Manager to join our dynamic Orchard Construction Team. In this role, you will manage all aspects of site planning and preparation for the construction of kiwifruit orchard builds, ensuring all projects meet Southern Cross Horticulture's world class standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Management: Manage the planning, logistics, and pricing of materials, ensuring all project aspects are executed to a world class standard.Water Systems Implementation: Lead stakeholders to source, design, and implement water systems for optimal crop establishment, production, and protection.Infrastructure Assessment: Assess existing operational orchards for water, power, septic, frost, and drainage infrastructure to desired specifications for optimal production and efficiency.Council Consents & Compliance: Lead and manage all aspects of council consents and compliance, ensuring projects meet legal requirements.Stakeholder & Contractor Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, contractors, and sub-contractors, managing daily on-site activities and ensuring efficient and quality work.CAD Orchard Design & Survey: Assist with CAD orchard design, site labelling, and marking of implemented systems, ensuring accuracy and quality.Health & Safety: Champion site safety, ensuring compliance with all health and safety protocols, including sign-ins, machinery checks, hazard reporting, PPE use, and company policies.Skills, Traits, and Competencies: Humble, Hungry, and Socially Smart: A strong fit with our values and culture.Problem Solver: Ability to find creative solutions to complex problems.Practical & Hands-On: Comfortable with a hands-on approach and getting involved in all aspects of the project.Lateral Thinking & Organizational Skills: Strong planning and organizational abilities.Effective Communicator: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders.Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and focus on delivering quality work.Sense of Urgency: Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.Proven Ability to Deliver on Time: Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver results within timelines.What We Offer: Competitive salary package including vehicle and health insurance.Opportunities for career growth and advancement within a leading horticulture company.Ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills.A supportive and dynamic work environment that values excellence and teamwork.If you are a proactive and enthusiastic Project Manager looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role with a company that values its employees, Southern Cross Horticulture is the place for you.
