Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are seeking a Project Manager to facilitate the establishment and implementation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health Research Network (AIHRN), hosted by the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences (FMHS).
The establishment of this Research Network responds to a key recommendation in the Prime Minister's Chief Science Advisor's 2023  AI in Health Report , which highlights the urgent need for AI digital tools in the New Zealand health sector.  A national AI in Health research network would lead in setting and advising on principles for good AI health research in the Aotearoa New Zealand context, enabling cutting-edge research to consider factors such as ethics, equity, policy, and data sovereignty.
The network would facilitate collaboration between experts across academia, industry and the health sector to achieve beneficial health outcomes for New Zealanders.
It would support the development of strategic relationships and foster collaboration, sharing of outputs and lessons learned, and would contribute to building international links and strengthening transparency and domestic social license.
Some key aspects of the role are: Develop and implement a strategically aligned Communications and Marketing plan in consultation with the AIHRN leadership and key partners to raise stakeholder awareness and engagement across the sector Develop a road map of the network including identifying medium and long-term objectives for the network to identify current and future research needs and opportunities for the development of research activities with local and national partners Liaising with key stakeholders/ entities such as Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora , Ministry of Health, Universities, and industry leaders Provide leadership and direction for any professional staff directly employed to deliver the PMI and encourage?a culture characterised by collaboration, agility, simplicity, engagement and empowerment.
Work in collaboration with University services (such as Marketing and Communications and Alumni Relations and Development) and key partners to develop appropriate collateral (including websites) and to conduct stakeholder engagement and fund raising activities aligned to the AIHRN strategic communication and stakeholder engagement In consultation with Director of Faculty Finance, and with the support of the Financial and Research Services, maintain finances within the allocated budget.
This is a part time (0.8FTE, 30 hours per week ), 12-month fixed term position.
The salary range for this role is between $96,800- $119,500 based on skills and experience.

Qualifications He korero mou | About you We are looking for someone who ideally has a background in large research networks or start up, with an understanding of health research, digital health, computer science or data science.
You will have excellent and proven relationship building skills and will be able to demonstrate business development experience and management of growth.
Utilising your outstanding communication skills, will see your experience working across large complex organisations put to the test in this challenging yet rewarding role.
Knowledge and Skills Essential: Bachelor's degree or relevant tertiary qualification.
More than 5 years' research management sector experience, with at least 5 years' providing support for complex projects Comprehensive experience in managing complex projects including managing and establishing fit for purpose finances, contracts, governance mechanisms or relevant specialism Preferred: Postgraduate qualification; Postgraduate research qualification.
