We have a full-time fixed term till June 2025 position available .

Te ahua o Te Turunga – The nature of the position As our Project Lead - Volunteer Recruitment, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the way we attract and support Pacific and Maori candidates.
You will be responsible for reviewing and refining our end-to-end recruitment processes, applying both a cultural and diversity and inclusion lens to our processes to ensure they are culturally appropriate and effective for engaging Pacific and Maori candidates based in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Your efforts will help shape our recruitment approach, ensuring we foster strong relationships with potential volunteers and communities, and ultimately contribute to a more equitable, diverse and inclusive volunteer programme.
Collaboration and training will be at the heart of your mahi, as you work closely with the Volunteer Recruitment Manager, Principal Liaison – Pacific Partnerships, and Kaiarahi Matua to identify and introduce new engagement strategies and training programmes.
You will provide valuable training to the Volunteer Recruitment team and other key VSA roles, enhancing their cross-cultural understanding and ability to support Pacific and Maori candidates.
Nga tino Pukenga/Wheako – Essential skills/experiences for the role We are looking for someone with good business analyst skills and experience in end-to-end recruitment, and working with Maori and Pacific candidates.
You will have previous experience reviewing work processes and approaches with a diversity and inclusion lens, developing solutions and then managing the change process to implement the agreed solutions.
You will likely have a background as a Senior Recruitment Advisor, Senior People and Culture Advisor or something similar.
As our Project Lead - Volunteer Recruitment, you will ideally have: A good understanding of and experience working in an NGO, volunteer-based organisation, or in international development.
Strong cultural competency, awareness and knowledge are a must in this role.
Comfortable with training staff and facilitating workshops.

This role is based in Wellington CBD, at the VSA head office, with the flexibility to work-from-home up to a couple of days a week.
