The Opportunity Our Civil team are a division of Fulton Hogan specialising in infrastructure construction, based around reinforced concrete. We are currently delivering work ranging from bridges and wharves to water treatment plants, storage tanks and pipelines.
We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our growing Civil team based in Te Marua, Wellington to deliver the good work we are known for.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the effective delivery of our projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading the project teams in the successful execution and delivery of the construction projects.Being accountable for the day to day running of the project site and progress of works.Ensuring documentation required for project records and administration is completed accurately and within required time frames.Preparing correspondence/programming and cost estimates.Scheduling works, procuring contractor services, and providing technical expertise as needed.This is a permanent, full-time position. We are looking for someone based in Wellington, however, you may be required to travel to other projects around NZ.
What you'll bring to the table This position requires leadership, energy, structures construction knowledge and the capability to be hands on, providing coaching and mentoring to team members on various technical elements, ensuring that work is completed to deadline and a high quality. You will have proven experience in major civil D&C construction projects and are familiar with NZS3916 and the Construction Contracts Act. You will be well versed in using these principals to get the job completed within the timeframe, budget and claim entitlements. You will have a strong history of successfully managing staff and subcontractors.
As a Project Engineer you will have:
Proven experience managing budgets and programmes.Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.Financial focus towards project costs.Proven ability in subcontractor management.You will need a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Structural Engineer and have a BE, NZCE or a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
