As the Project Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of major commercial projects in Auckland. Working closely with project teams, you will oversee all commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements. Your strategic insights and meticulous attention to detail will drive project profitability and contribute to the company's continued success.
Key Responsibilities: Manage all commercial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion, including procurement, contracts administration, cost control, and risk management.
Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with project objectives and client expectations.
Negotiate contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to secure favorable terms and ensure cost efficiency.
Monitor project financial performance, analyze variances, and take proactive measures to mitigate risks and optimize profitability.
Conduct regular reviews of project contracts, identify potential disputes or discrepancies, and facilitate resolution in accordance with legal and contractual obligations.
Provide timely and accurate reporting to senior management on project commercial performance, highlighting key issues and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to enhance project delivery and maintain our company's reputation for excellence.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Proven track record of at least 7 years in a similar role within the construction industry, with experience in managing commercial aspects of large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as MS Office suite and project management tools.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, NZIQS) is desirable.
