The Akau Tangi Sports Centre in Kilbirnie, Wellington provides high quality playing and training facilities for netball, basketball, futsal, volleyball, and a wide range of other indoor sports and activities for sports organisations, schools, and communities.The Akau Tangi Sports Centre is operated and managed by Parks, Sport and Recreation, a business unit of Wellington City Council. Parks, Sport and Recreation provides a comprehensive range of recreation and leisure opportunities through its network of community recreation facilities, programmes, and services to its customers across the city.The Akau Tangi Sports Centre (12 court facility based in Kilbirnie, Wellington) is a vibrant facility which has seen significant growth over recent years. Our Programmes Team are responsible for delivering programmes and activities that enhance the health and wellbeing of Wellington's communities.The Programmes Coordinator is a permanent full-time role. The working schedule is Monday to Friday. Hours may vary, and work outside this time might be needed.Some of the role's key responsibilities are to:Assist the Programmes Team Leader to set the strategic growth as well as meet the programming and financial needs of the department.Lead, manage, and deliver Holiday Programmes.Develop, plan, and implement programmes for all ages.Carry out administrative tasks such as rostering.Facilitate and manage school programme visits.Assist in the development of staff training.The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate:Organisation, creativity, and innovation.Professionalism.A high level of flexibility in their approach to problem solving.An ability to build relationships with staff and customers.Experience in financial business and a proven track record of working towards goals and budgets.An emerging leader in the industry with the desire to grow and lead a team.To be considered for this role, you will hold a bachelor's degree or have an equivalent number of years' experience. Additionally, you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in the sport and recreation industry.
