Programme Specialist (Clubs & General) - Work from Home The Student Volunteer Army Foundation is a registered charitable trust in New Zealand.
Founded in response to the Christchurch Earthquakes by Sam Johnson and friends from the University of Canterbury, we focus on celebrating and championing youth volunteering.
Our mission is to inspire and mobilize young people to engage in meaningful volunteering activities that enrich themselves and their communities.
Today, our efforts extend beyond crisis response to include educational programs across schools and universities in NZ, promoting service and volunteering skills.
Students track their volunteer hours against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, equipped with the tools and connections necessary for crisis response.
The purpose of this role is to coordinate and support the delivery of key projects across the organisation, with a primary focus on customer service through the management of shared inboxes and communication channels.
Working closely with the Head of Programmes and the SVA wider team, this role provides programme, logistical, and general coordination for the Service Award programme.
Please note that this is a fixed term role for 30 hours a week until the 31st of March 2025 with a strong possibility of rolling into a permanent role after.
National travel may be required for this role.
Qualifications & experience Tertiary qualification, preferably with related diploma or certificate education, or equivalent knowledge from work experience (2-3+ years).
Strong project management and planning skills.
Customer-focused with an understanding of relationship management best practices.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in process development and documentation, seeking to enhance work processes and implement innovative strategies for improved efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and growth.
Experience in a not-for-profit or charity organization or in the education sector.
Ability to work in a small team, contributing flexibly as needed.
Commitment to developing cultural capability and understanding of te ao Maori.
Ability to commit 20 hours a week to the role.
Tasks & responsibilities SVA Clubs Programme Delivery: Deliver the SVA Clubs Programme, engaging and activating clubs through virtual webinars, forums, and meetings.
Manage attendance at expos and ensure Health & Safety implementation for the programme.
Client & Supplier Management: Collaborate with clients and suppliers to ensure successful delivery of the SVA Clubs.
Assist clubs with recruitment by standardizing job descriptions, connecting them with marketing resources, and supporting onboarding and training for new executives.
Content Collection: Design and manage the collection of stories and interviews from volunteers to showcase the impact of the SVA Clubs Programme, supported by the Head of Programmes and Head of Community Impact & Storytelling.
Clubs Conference & Recruitment: Coordinate booking for club members and suppliers, deliver the annual conference, and develop event collateral with the Impact and Storytelling team.
Manage the runsheet, project plan, and logistics, and support future event delivery processes.
Supplier & Sponsor Support: Oversee volunteer recruitment, screening, and vetting (including reference and police checks).
Review volunteer experiences, attend in-person events, and provide updates and statistics as needed.
Pilot Programmes: Set up profiles for teachers and partners, report and collect statistics, and provide updates on progress.
Manage coordination and updates.
Crisis Response: Activate internal crisis response, assess existing programmes, and design new emergency response initiatives.
Coordinate with delivery partners and stakeholders, establish monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and organize crisis management training for SVA Clubs.
