Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waitemata serves the largest district population in NZ, providing health services to a diverse population covering the North Shore, Rodney and West Auckland. We also have services that reach out to Manukau City, Central Auckland and Northland.
We are looking for an exceptional person to lead our District's financial sustainability programme. You will report directly to the Group Director Operations (GDO). You will provide governance, support and oversight of the programme, allowing the GDO to manage a wide span of control by supporting the information flow to ensure fully informed decision making across as wide a scope as possible. You will assist in coordinating leadership action where multiple Directors/Chiefs or service leaders are involved.
Further projects may be delegated to you where leadership is required on projects and/or initiatives that are priorities of the GDO.
Key components and required background:
Detailed knowledge of the key strategic challenges facing the public health sector in the delivery of equitable health outcomes in the NZ Health and Disability Sector.
Minimum of 3 years management experience at a senior level in a health organisation, with responsibility for project delivery, financial management and budgeting and staff management.
Highly developed analytical/ conceptual thinking, which can be applied to providing information and advice to senior executives to assist strategic decision making in a health organisation.
Ability to prepare clear and concise in-depth critical analyses, briefing and recommendations which the GDO and Executives can use to drive effective business decisions.
You will be a highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic individual with exceptional communication and relationship building skills and strategic thinking; also, a demonstrable ability to take the initiative, as well as prior leadership ability within the health sector.
