Programme Coordinator - 6 month fixed termThe Ministry of Social Development is a people-centred organisation. We're in communities across the motu, working with partners to help New Zealanders be safe, strong and independent.We provide social policy and advice to government and assistance, including income, employment and housing support to people of all ages, families, whanau and communities.As a Te Tiriti o Waitangi partner we are committed to supporting and enabling Maori, whanau, hapu, Iwi and communities to realise their own potential and aspirations.The Disability Support Services Group (DSS) has been established to ensure fairer access to disability support services in New Zealand, ensuring those with the greatest needs receive quality support services.The DSS Taskforce has been established to implement the recommendations of the Independent Review into DSS to:provide disabled people with certain and consistent access to DSS, no matter what their circumstances or where they live in New Zealandprioritise funding for disabled people with the highest needs, and those who would benefit most from early intervention supportensure that Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles are put into practiceensure that the long-term sustainability of DSS is strengthened to provide disabled people and carers with services that are both fair and affordable.As the Programme Coordinator you'll be responsible for providing administrative and project support to the Disability Support Services Programme Management Office.This is a high priority project and great opportunity for you to use your Programme Coordination skills to support the work we are doing to provide fairer access to disability support services across the country.Working alongside the Programme Director, the Communications and Engagement Lead and the wider team you'll provide effective support to enable them to focus on the critical success factors of delivery of the DSS Review work programme.We value diversity and welcome applications from disabled people and those who have lived experience with whanau, or the disability community. Please contact us if there is any support that we can provide to ensure the recruitment process is accessible to you.This is a 6-month fixed term role.Minimum Requirements:A strong background in a programme or project coordination role where you have used project and programme methodology to deliver.An understanding of the New Zealand Government sector.Experience of prioritising in an often busy and complex environment and applying sound judgement when dealing with competing deadlines.Strong working knowledge of how to use office software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint as well as MS Teams.Highly effective organisation and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise in a busy and complex environment.Strong relationship management skills – able to establish, build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Setting up, adapting, and maintaining controls including risk registers, schedules, finances, reporting & communications.Completing tasks such as event support, diary management, booking travel and accommodation, organizing meetings, minute taking, documentation and information management.Contributing to project delivery activities such as coordinating stakeholder engagement and supporting the project team in delivering products as required.To apply, click the 'Apply Now' button to upload your CV, cover letter and complete the online application form.
