About us:
At the Red Office we take pride in delivering an exceptional outsourced Accounts Department to our clients. Clients range from 1-50hrs support per week. They utilise the skills across our team to receive a managed service, delivered by 2-3 staff, to ensure a seamless delivery and cover for our team when they take leave. We have an opportunity for a Senior to join our team:
The role:
We are looking for a savvy bookkeeper with experience.
Senior Bookkeeper or Accounts Manager level experience
Previous experience managing multiple companies
Full XERO processing to Balance Sheet reconciliation
Management of intercompany on-charges and loans
Payroll experience a bonus
If you have intermediate skills or don't have all of the following please send your cv in. We can provide some training if you have a good base level. [note starting rate adjusts]
The role requires excellent comms and organisational skills to manage the various stakeholders.
Senior's/Account Managers are service providers. They engage with clients by online meeting, phone, text and email. Their role is to learn the ins and outs of the client's business, customise our accounting services to the client's needs and manage the clients' accounts@ email, all while ensuring each customer believes they are the Account Managers top priority. This is a role for the organised bookkeeper who wants to be busy. The beauty of our work is we don't just work on one set of books. Account Managers own 2-10 clients each and this supplies the opportunity to have exposure to diverse types of businesses. They are confident learning systems, often working across a dozen apps for payroll, jobbing, CRM, accounts payables processing, comms and more. They embrace teamwork and support each other to utilise the skills across the wider team.
First and foremost, we are looking for the 'right fit' bookkeeper from a personality, culture and mindset perspective. I asked our team to give me feedback on why they choose to work at Red Office and here is some of their feedback:
Good management and realistic expectations
My favorite part of this job is the learning opportunity. I learn something new just about every day.
There is always someone who can answer a question, back up for your tasks if you are sick or on leave.
Every one has different expertise and open to teach others if required.
Everyone in the team are willing to help always!!
The flexibility and working with an awesome group of women.
The hybrid working is extremely helpful with having young children - I am able to work from home and use my timebank if the children have events I need/would like to attend.
Empathy, kindness and valuable support from fellow team members and the office/management culture is created and maintained in a way to help develop skills and take each individual's personal needs into account.
You are valued as a person and your individual skills are highlighted, good management, flexibility and good office culture.
I work in the office one day a week to keep in touch with the wider team. I prefer working in quiet without distractions, however, it is good to mingle and catch up with everyone weekly to stay connected to the team. The office is set up with meeting rooms and quiet spaces which is great for client meetings, training etc
Giving me opportunities (since the time you called me for an interview) , pushing me to improve more,
Variety of clients, flexibility of hours, backup & support in multiple layers, training, opportunity to learn new Accounting Software, working close to home and not travelling that southern MW everyday ALL played a big part in my decision to join RO.
Coming from a corporate background into a professional services environment is different and it does take some adjustment time. RO provide a mentor from within, for you to have coffee with and talk about anything & everything.
A supportive collaborative working environment with awesome colleagues who are willing to help and share their time and knowledge, training programmes to get qualified, working with a range of clients from R&D, to Accounting Firms, to Sales/Manufacturing etc - develop as a professional, and well looked after as an individual - mentoring, team hubs, birthday spends - feel cared about as a person, not just an employee a great environment good mix of hard work, and humor - it helps!
As a newbie I have never had an employer offer a mentor programme, and care about onboarding, supporting and developing employees - it's so great, and I just want to say Thank you I really appreciate this
Across our team we have an age mix of 25-67, different cultural backgrounds, staff starting as a junior working their way through our growth pathway, senior level staff previously employed in sole charge high pressure roles looking to still be challenged but relinquish the sole charge aspect to ensure they can take holidays and enjoy time off.
Opportunity to work across a wide range of businesses
A mentor across your first 8 weeks of employment to support your onboarding
XERO & Software certifications, NZPPA certifications, ongoing CPD
Career pathway with opportunities to move into specialist Consulting or Client Onboarding role, or develop your leadership potential via our Hub Coordinator pathway to Team Leader.
Flexible working hours between 7am-6pm with timebank policies in place. Initially working from our office in Pukekohe , once experienced if you have a professional working from home setup, we are happy to discuss a hybrid working arrangement.
Modern IT equipment and in-house support
If you have not worked in a professional services environment before it is fast paced and there is always something new to learn. Our full-time roles are 35-40 hours per week. Please call me on 027 473 5963 for more details.
