About the opportunity:
This exciting opportunity is for a skilled Production Manager to lead a team of fabricators and installers for a leading business operating within a niche section of the market in the Bay of Plenty. You will oversee the fabrication and installation of a range of products, including fences, gates, handrails, and balustrades. Working with a team of 12 and closely with the Managing Director, you'll ensure that every project upholds the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape processes, drive improvements, and deliver exceptional results in a key leadership position.
Role description:
As the Production Manager, you will spearhead the fabrication and installation of diverse products while overseeing the team. You will possess the organisational skills to manage 20-30 bespoke jobs per month. The role will involve managing health and safety compliance, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget requirements, and maintaining plant and equipment. You'll also take charge of project management tasks, from planning through to successful execution.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing production and installation staff to meet quality and deadline standards.
Overseeing daily operations, including shift meetings and toolbox talks.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Handling project management tasks, from planning to client liaison.
Managing plant and equipment maintenance and repairs.
This role will suit someone with all or some of the following background/experience/qualities:
Experience in production and installation management, ideally in a similar industry that works with steel or similar bespoke products.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Proven ability to manage budgets, projects, and staff effectively.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience with plant and equipment maintenance and management.
