The Opportunity We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Production Manager to join our 10-strong, experienced team on a 1750 cow farm near Taupo.
This position reports directly to the Farm Manager and acts in a team leader role for the rotary and wider dairy team.
The ideal candidate will bring experience across dairy operations, animal husbandry, pasture and feed management, farm maintenance, and leadership to reach performance goals for the season.
The outline for the role includes: Working as part of a team to achieve targets for the dairy and the wider Rural Operations team.
Responsible for day to day supervision of staff, contractors, and the work environment.
Meet all Health and Safety, Wellbeing, and environmental requirements in the role.
Support personal development and training for the team.
Ensure records are kept up to date as required, ensuring information is collected and used to manage feeding, pasture, and production.
All stock are managed and handled in a way that protects animal welfare and health.
Effluent is managed within the requirements of the farm resource consent conditions at all times.

What you'll need to be successful: You will need a reasonable level of physical fitness, great communication, work ethic, and time management skills.
Dairy farming knowledge, commitment to the role, and a willingness to contribute and learn are key to succeed in this role.
3+ years' experience in a dairy supervisory role.
Understanding and experience of animal husbandry and farming/dairy operations.
Willingness to contribute and improve processes and procedures.
A mature attitude with high levels of practicality, flexibility, and initiative.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to communicate and manage a team of individuals effectively.
Experience driving farm vehicles including tractors, 2-wheeler, and side by side.
