The GEA Farm Technologies Division in New Zealand employs approximately 120 staff and is proud to support dairy farmers around the world to produce leading dairy products. The division encompasses our Dairy Equipment business (Milfos and Westfalia brands) based out of Hamilton and our Dairy Hygiene & Animal Health business (FIL brand) based out of Mount Maunganui.

About the role:
An opportunity exists for an open-minded, solution orientated Product Manager to join our high performing team, working together with the team in an inclusive and collaborative environment. The role, which can be based at either of our GEA Farm Technologies sites in Hamilton or Mount Maunganui, has responsibility for ensuring animal health and hygiene products support the company's overall strategy and goals.
This includes delivering the product to market that addresses the market need and represents viable business opportunities. The Product Manager is ultimately responsible for managing the product throughout its lifecycle – conception through end-of-life in collaboration with key stakeholders.
The main tasks include:
Define the product development strategy and product roadmap in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Manage and co-ordinate the product development process / activities, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure successful product launches.
Review lifecycle management of existing product range to ensure cost and profit margin efficiencies.
Undertake customer and market analysis, including customer insights, industry trends and competitor landscape assessment.
Assist with troubleshooting of product management related issues and develop solutions to overcome these.
Enable FIL to develop towards the "next level" in relation to focusing on product management.
Contribute to ongoing expertise and training by developing and delivering ongoing training for Area Managers and rural retailers on key products.
About you:
Minimum of 10 years engineering, leadership and / or operational experience
In-depth knowledge of product management, sales and technical and processes
Good understanding of P&L and budgeting / forecasting
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Proactive mindset with a strong focus on driving results and achieving objectives.
