Ballance Agri-Nutrients is a farmer owned co-operative helping NZ farmers and growers to farm more productively, profitably and sustainably. Ballance's original core business was in fertiliser manufacturing, supply and sales but it continues to transform as an organisation as the evolution of Agri-science and technology advances to lead the way in creating the best soil and food on earth. Ballance now distributes an innovative suite of products and services including a range of fertiliser and micronutrient products, a fully owned subsidiary of Ballance (SuperAir) that specialises in the aerial application of fertiliser and lime as well as mapping services, self-silo services and farm sustainability services. Ballance continues to have a key focus on its customers, a pivotal requirement in understanding and meeting the evolving needs of farmers as well as the wider trends in the agricultural sector.
About The Role
This role is responsible for optimising the performance of Ballance's nutrient portfolio at all stages of the product life cycle, ensuring that Ballance's nutrients are meeting business and customer's needs. Key responsibilities include:
Optimisation of the performance of the portfolio through margin, innovation, product mix and marketing programmes (including promotions).
Assisting with category strategy, development and execution.
Development of nutrient strategies with cross functional alignment.
Key role in Pricing Team – managing the pricing sub-committee, communication of recommendations and changes in accordance with agreed process and facilitation of financial modelling to evaluate opportunities and performance.
Oversight of the Market Insights team and contribution to the Sales and Operations process.
Development of strategy and execution plan for all product marketing programmes that support the nutrient portfolio.
Identifying nutrient innovation opportunities and helping bring them to life in conjunction with the innovation team.
Development and review of budget and forecasts.
Key attributes
5+ years' experience in marketing with product management experience.
Strong internal and external relationship building capability.
Experience in change and transformation.
A strong problem solver using critical analysis.
Excellent presentation and influencing capability.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross collaboratively and cross functionally.
Great understanding and application of product management and development methodologies.
Strong financial management and commercial acumen.
Strong data and insights skills.
A qualification in business/ideally marketing.
