This is a newly created role responsible for the purchasing and management of a critical product portfolio; leading key relationships and negotiations for the procurement of goods for our client's business. Directly reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be tasked with developing and implementing procurement strategies and planning and providing advice to the wider business in order to achieve key metrics.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for achieving best-price across an extensive local and international supplier base and working closely with the supply and demand team and the commercial teams within the business. Additionally, your remit includes identifying areas of opportunity for cost saving, placing orders and ensuring on time delivery of a portfolio of suppliers, quality management, range optimisation and improvement efficiencies, as well as ensuring adherence to systems and reporting requirements.
You will be an experienced FMCG purchasing / supply chain professional with several years' experience able to quickly integrate into the business and add value from the outset. You will be empowered to take ownership and required to bring your ideas and concepts forward to the team and wider business.
To be considered for this role you must possess the following experience and attributes:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in international procurement and supply chain
FMCG or complex inventory related industries
Credible and demonstratable achievement to KPI's
Strong commercial and financial acumen – a strategic mindset
Having some experience in quality would be advantageous
Intermediate to advanced excel user level
An eye for continuous improvement and best practice
A strong communicator with the skills to engage, influence and negotiate with all internal and external key stakeholders
A team player, a self-starter with a growth mindset
