About the RoleBased in Auckland, NZ, and reporting to the Procurement Manager APAC, the Procurement Specialist role will be an integral hands-on role that will work in global cross-functional teams with project directors, project managers, suppliers, engineering, procurement team and other external/internal stakeholders to drive impactful initiatives that result in reduced supply-risk, increased supply-agility, and project savings.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and deliver regular reports on procurement activitiesNegotiate contracts/agreements with subcontractors as well as critical or high-risk suppliersManage purchasing activities for projects such as raising POs and following up on ordersDevelop and maintain an approved supplier listMonitor supplier performance including quality, cost, and deliveryProvide backup logistics support such as arranging domestic and international shipmentsBenefits:Flexible working policyFree onsite parking in AvondaleDiscounted Southern Cross health insuranceEmployee referral program of $1500 NZDAccess to INSTEP EAP wellbeing support servicesGlobal career progression opportunitiesSkills & Experience:To succeed in this role, you will need a process-driven approach to work and be confident with your planning and organization skills.
You will have at least 5 years of experience in procurement, ideally with at least 2 years working in a project procurement role, and be able to show strong communication and negotiation skills.Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or related fieldsProfessional knowledge of industrial automation and its purchasing practices preferredStrong computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly ExcelAbility to communicate effectively, build relationships, and influence at all levelsAbout Alstef Group:Alstef Group designs, integrates, and supports automated turnkey solutions for the airport, intralogistics, and parcel handling markets.
