About the Role
Based in Auckland, NZ, and reporting to the Procurement Manager APAC, the Procurement Specialist role will be an integral hands-on role that will work in global cross-functional teams with project directors, project managers, suppliers, engineering, procurement team and other external/internal stakeholders to drive impactful initiatives that result in reduced supply-risk, increased supply-agility, and project savings.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver regular reports on procurement activities
Negotiate contracts/agreements with subcontractors as well as critical or high-risk suppliers
Manage purchasing activities for projects such as raising POs and following up on orders
Develop and maintain an approved supplier list
Monitor supplier performance including quality, cost, and delivery
Provide backup logistics support such as arranging domestic and international shipments

Skills & Experience:
To succeed in this role, you will need a process-driven approach to work and be confident with your planning and organization skills. You will have at least 5 years of experience in procurement, ideally with at least 2 years working in a project procurement role, and be able to show strong communication and negotiation skills.
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or related fields
Professional knowledge of industrial automation and its purchasing practices preferred
Strong computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships, and influence at all levels
