Procurement Officer

The Role will consist of:Overall responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the tendering and quotation process inclusive of evaluation, negotiation and recommendation of tenders to appropriate committeeProviding procurement advice on procurement policy and proceduresAssisting in the preparation and review of specification and tender documentsMaintenance of procurement information on systems such as procurement policy, tender opportunities, contracts and contract management policyLiaising with external procurement bodies regarding procurement of goods and servicesDeveloping partnerships with internal and external customers and stakeholders to promote and foster relationships and identify opportunity for continuous development and improvementMaintain contract management frameworkAssist in the development, implementation and review of strategic procurement policyThe PersonAs the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:Essential:At least 3 years relevant procurement experience and hold or be working towards a membership of CIPS OR 4 years relevant procurement experience and willingness to work towards achieving a membershipWorking knowledge of best practice procurement procedures and achieving best value for moneyDesirable:Experience of working within public sector procurementWhat's in it for you?:Generous annual leaveA competitive salaryThe opportunity to work for a fantastic organisation at the forefront of public sector
