Procurement Contracts Category Lead (12 Months Fixed Term) Our Procurement team here at the Council is intrinsically connected to our organisation's vision and strategic priorities. They achieve this by collaborating with multiple departments and by strategically linking sourcing, contract management, supplier relationship management and performance analytics. About the role: Leading allocated sourcing projects, providing strategic guidance, and driving best practice strategies including a focus on contract management and relationship development across the Council. Ability to develop and maintain healthy stakeholder relationships assists you in being an effective specialist. Working alongside the supplier market to understand trends and making sure you are delivering the best value for money for the organisation and the community. About you: Demonstrable experience leading strategic commercial projects, ideally in a large organisation. An expert in end-to-end procurement practices and will operate within a best practice framework, with experience in a broad range of sectors. Experienced at Contract Management experience and you'll ideally have experience in infrastructure (e.g. horizontal maintenance, horizontal construction and vertical construction etc.) procurement activities. Excellent written and oral communication skills in order to deliver concepts and strategies to stakeholders across the Council. Innovative, collaborative, strategic, and interpersonal skills will stand you in good stead for this role.
