The Group is focused on implementing key recommendations to deliver consistent, equitable services, prioritize high-needs individuals, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of DSS, all while upholding Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles.As the Procurement and Commercial Lead, you will lead and manage our commercial work and oversee a range of end-to-end procurement activities within a commissioning cycle. At the Ministry, we commission approximately $2.5b of disability support annually.You will lead our annual procurement planning and provide commercial support and specialist end-to-end procurement advice across the organisation while implementing best practice initiatives.You will be a leading specialist and provide strategic and commercial advice, support to the senior leadership of DSS, and be responsible for coordinating and developing all procurement and commercial artifacts, activities, and reporting.You will work closely with our team of Portfolio Managers to coach and mentor them and grow and develop their commercial and procurement knowledge.This role supports an increased focus across the Ministry to strengthen probity and will foster the development, growth, and procurement expertise across the commissioning team and the wider organisation.The role plays a pivotal part in strengthening commissioning practice in the Ministry and supporting the implementation of a commissioning framework.We value diversity and welcome applications from disabled people and those who have lived experience with whanau or the disability community.
