St Mary's Primary School is located in Hokitika on the West Coast, offering many outdoor activities including cycle trails, beaches, and lakes. As a Catholic Mercy School with a small, supportive, and diverse culture, we are seeking a candidate who will honour our Special Character and adapt to smaller town life.
With around 125 students across six classrooms, our school provides high-quality, personalised learning that leverages community, parish, and natural environment opportunities. We seek someone experienced in building trust-based, reciprocal relationships within a small community setting.
We are looking for a passionate, experienced, and adaptable leader to embed our vision and values while upholding our Catholic Special Character. The successful candidate will manage the school effectively, support staff, and foster community connections.
Responsibilities:
Be an effective school leader with experience in school leadership and management.
Have strong communication skills and a history of building positive, trust-based relationships with akonga, staff, whanau, Board, parish, and community.
Honor the history, values, virtues, and surrounding environment of our school, particularly our Catholic Special Character and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Foster a positive school culture that promotes student achievement and wellbeing, including staff wellbeing, while celebrating the diversity of our multicultural community.
Commit to providing a wide range of learning opportunities for all akonga.
