You'll work on many diverse transformational projects with a wide range of parties and experts in your profession and related disciplines.This role works closely with other units and divisions within Auckland Transport, Auckland Council, and Eke Panuku Development Auckland to ensure property acquisition programmes are developed and implemented in accordance with statutory provisions.You will ideally have solid experience gained within the private or public sector, be highly organised, and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.Responsibilities:Provide high-level property advice and guidance to support the achievement of project outcomes and the property acquisition needs of Auckland Transport's projects.Identify scope of potential purchases and land involved with attributes such as ownership, legal description, tenure, interests of other parties, and the like.Commission and interpret valuation reports for the land involved.Manage the negotiation of agreements for the sale and purchase of land under the Public Works Act (PWA).Proactively identify opportunities to add value to Auckland Transport's operations.Collaborate with other teams within Auckland Transport, Auckland Council, and Eke Panuku Development to deliver on regional objectives where appropriate.Risk management through the identification of potential risk areas and developing and implementing the strategies to mitigate these should they become issues.Forecasting and budgeting on property acquisitions.Provide leadership and subject matter expertise for the Property and Planning unit and encourage greater awareness and understanding of industry knowledge.Minimum Requirements:A tertiary qualification in Property, Law, Valuation, or Business.Accreditation with a relevant professional body is desirable.Experience within the wider property industry as a subject matter expert (8 years+).Experience and knowledge of the Auckland real estate market.Property acquisition experience within the public sector or private development.Knowledge of the Public Works Act, Local Government Act, and Resource Management Act.Demonstrated knowledge of property valuations.At AT, we embrace inclusion and fully support building a diverse workplace where people come first and we feel safe, respected, valued, and supported, inclusive of our differences.
