He angitutanga: The opportunityParks and Community Facilities (P&CF) is committed to providing world-class community and public spaces including parks, reserves, and public open space. As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council's parks and facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities. This role is instrumental in acquiring new land for parks and open space.Reporting to the Manager Land Advisory Services, as Principal Property Advisor you will provide strategic, specialist property and valuation advice for acquisition, disposal, and related technical property services to Auckland Council and Council Controlled Organisations (CCOs).You will manage the acquisition of land and provide advice on statutory, legislative, and council procedures relating to acquisition, disposal, and management of property.Key Responsibilities:Bring your proven experience managing complex property portfolios.Help deliver our land acquisition programme and manage existing property.Work collaboratively across Auckland Council for open space outcomes.You will provide specialist property and valuation advice to various parts of council in respect of land dealings, temporary occupation, licences, agreements, easements, acquisition, and disposal activities, from assessment of proposals through to settlement and handover.He korero mou: About youA tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as law, property, land valuation, land use, or planning (or equivalent gained experience managing complex property portfolios) is essential.You will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the legislative and strategic frameworks the council works within.You will bring a commercial lens and perspective with your proven experience in property negotiations and land valuation, and an in-depth knowledge of and experience in prudently managing property assets and budget.You will confidently interpret and apply relevant legislation such as the Reserves Act, Resource Management Act, Local Government acts, and the Public Works Act, and will be able to research and provide advice on historical information or records for acquisition and disposal of properties and have great relationship and stakeholder management skills.Nga ahuatanga kei a matou: What we offerWe will offer you a career-enhancing opportunity, working in a great, engaging team and unit, competitive salary, and you'll play a crucial role in creating and managing Auckland's open space.
