Principal Procurement Specialist - Regulatory and CustomerAre you ready to lead strategic procurement initiatives that drive value and deliver business objectives? We're seeking a seasoned Principal Procurement Specialist to shape best practices and deliver exceptional outcomes across critical areas of spend.This role supports our Regulatory and Customer Services teams to deliver improved safety outcomes and reduce the risk of harm in land transport and improve the experience of people who interact with NZTA services and products.In this role, you will:Develop and implement detailed category strategies.Partner with business owners to understand and deliver on procurement needs.Lead end-to-end sourcing processes for complex procurements.Support strategic and tactical contract negotiations.Implement robust commercial frameworks and ensure compliance with policy.Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.Your expertise will focus on the plan and source phases of the procurement lifecycle, with opportunities to influence contract performance in the manage phase. With a focus on high-risk and high-value projects, you'll ensure procurement is a strategic enabler within NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).O Pumanawa I What we're looking forOur ideal candidate will have some or all of the following:An excellent understanding of government procurement policies, rules and process.Knowledge and experience in the design and management of a wide range of public sector sourcing processes, for example, open market, multi-stage, secondary procurements and direct source, for higher value and complex categories and areas of spend.Expertise in the application of more complex routes to market, for example, Competitive Dialogue, Alliancing, with experience applying this knowledge to high-value, high-risk procurements.Experience in successfully supporting complex negotiations and leading less-complex negotiations across multiple projects and programmes.Experience in formal structured contract management of strategically important contracts.A Tertiary qualification in a related discipline or equivalent experience, with CIPS or related professional industry membership preferred.To be considered for this position you must have a legal right to live and work in New Zealand.NZTA| Waka Kotahi is an equal opportunity employer (EOE).
