Ko ake mahi - What you'll do Lead work to develop the new strategy to prevent and minimise gambling harm, including using your financial and technical policy analysis skillset to finalise the associated service plan.
Undertake calculations to set levy rates relating to the problem gambling levy on the gambling industry.
Support implementation of the strategy, including establishing the Ministry's related monitoring function.
Lead a range of core policy work such as preparing briefings for Ministers and Cabinet papers, project management, engaging with stakeholders, and preparing for announcements.
Be part of a collaborative team, working with colleagues across the Ministry and other agencies.

An understanding of legislation and levies.
Strong policy skillset and experience, including data and financial analysis.
Excellent project management, communication and writing skills.
Positive relationship building skills.
A can-do attitude and energy to get up to speed quickly.
