Principal Policy Advisor

Our client is a central government agency looking for an experienced Principal Policy Advisor to join a busy team working on complex legislative reform, starting as soon as possible on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2025.
The role is primarily to support the team with high-profile legislative reform work, including the rewrite of a specific Act so strong legislative experience is required. They will need to be politically savvy, and work closely with the team to develop quality policy analysis and advice in a time pressured environment; and ensure the associated communication to Ministers and cross agency stakeholders is appropriate.
Key skills and requirements: Experienced principal advisorAny regulatory experience would also be ideal as they are dealing with a complex regulatory system with lots of moving partsAbility to support a small team of senior advisors with the delivery of their policy workExperience reviewing the policy work of others to ensure effective deliveryExperience working on high profile policy issuesGood policy analysis skills and the ability to provide effective adviceGood relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills are keyAbility to work in partnership with the minister's office and with cross agency stakeholdersStrong machinery of government and politically savvyA legal background would be beneficial but not essentialIf this sounds like you and you're keen to find out more then please contact James Atkin and email your CV in Word Format to ****** and reference job number JAA6318.
