Principal Planner - Christchurch

Details of the offer

Harper Smith has partnered with this prominent and well-positioned multi-disciplined engineering consultancy who are looking to grow their presence in Christchurch. Due to their success, they are now seeking a qualified and highly experienced Senior or Principal Planner with 8 years plus experience. This is your opportunity to become a valued member of a highly prestigious consultancy that offers top-quality services to clients.

This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to lead and grow a team, drive excellence in resource management, and ensure the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects.

As a Senior Resource Management Planner, you will play a key role in shaping the planning services, mentoring junior staff, and building strong client relationships. You will be responsible for managing complex projects, providing expert advice on resource management issues, and contributing to the strategic direction of the team. There are already some development projects in place that are being serviced by the offices in the North Island, so they need someone on the ground locally.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and grow a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Manage and oversee the delivery of resource management projects, ensuring they meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Provide expert planning advice on resource consents, district and regional plans, and environmental assessments.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
Contribute to business development initiatives, including identifying new opportunities and preparing proposals.
Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in resource management.
Mentor and support junior staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
In return, you will be offered a competitive salary package with the opportunity for equity and some notable benefits.

For a confidential discussion, please contact Stephen Smith on 021 664 367 or email a copy of your CV and a covering letter to ******.
