Full time$160,000 (base salary + benefits) per annumThis is a unique and varied opportunity for a Principal Financial Accountant, who has extensive accounting and public sector experience.Join a team of 11, as part of a wider business unit comprising four teams. This is the most senior level role in this team and encompasses managing workflow, reviewing reports, and working with external stakeholders at a high level.We are ideally looking for a senior Financial Accountant who has sound machinery of government knowledge, experience working with senior management, and extensive reporting experience (CFIS).Other Duties Include:Support public sector financial management planning, investment, and reporting processesProvide financial accounting advice, services, and reporting to ensure accurate reporting to government agenciesLead data preparation for valuations, preparing internal/external reporting, baseline updates, and appropriation processesAct as a recognised expert for complex accounting, tax, financial, and investment mattersBecome a subject matter expert for data, systems, and frameworks, including review and approval of CFIS reportingLead, plan, and execute projects or initiatives including across networked teams, with accountability for stakeholder managementAs a senior level member of this high-performing team, you will lead and own relationships across the business and sector, as well as advise on complex technical accounting and financial decisions with large strategic significance.We Are Looking for the Following Experience:A minimum of eight years accounting experience, including extensive financial accounting experience and strong knowledge of the workings of NZ government financial practices and reportingChartered Accountant (or equivalent CAANZ recognised) qualificationPrevious experience preparing and reporting on CFIS content, with the ability to think about the bigger picturePrevious experience solving complex technical accounting issues, running key deliverables, and delivering through othersAbility to mentor/coach others to build capability and technical expertiseA working knowledge of tax is preferableIf you are interested, please APPLY NOW!Or get in touch with me: ****** OR 027 251 2672.Ref No: 3839863
