Te Pou Whakamaru | Regulation & Monitoring directorate is looking for a Principal Adviser Employment Relations to join our Workforce Monitoring Team, to ensure we understand and empower our health workforce, across the whole of the health sector, recognising them as the key enabler to achieving Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) – Protect, Promote, and Improve the Health of New Zealanders.
The Workforce Monitoring Team delivers on its why through employment relations assurance and workforce reporting to ensure an understanding of employment relations in the health sector, workforce risks, technical leadership and evidence-based high-quality strategic advice to the Minister, sector, Director-General, and other business units within the Ministry.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do The Principal Advisor Workforce Monitoring will lead the charge in shaping the future of workforce reporting across the health sector. You will provide strategic advice, technical leadership, and quality reporting to the Ministry, ensuring robust reporting frameworks that support critical workforce decisions. Your work will directly influence the Minister, sector leaders, and key stakeholders, driving impactful changes in health workforce management.
Ko pukenga - What you'll bring Ability to build collaborative and positive relationships across the Directorate, Ministry, the wider health sector, government and with other external stakeholders.
Experience in workforce management, risks mitigation, planning and reporting, ideally within the health sector.
Excellent critical thinking with an ability to process complex information quickly, form independent judgments and communicate these clearly to influence decisions.
Proven strategic and thought leadership excelling in engaging others in the vision and position teams organisations and sectors to meet current and future needs.
Experience in central government and understanding of its operations enabling provision of high-quality strategic advice to Ministers and manage complex projects.
