The Water Services Authority - Taumata Arowai is the water services regulator for Aotearoa New Zealand.
It is a Crown entity governed by a Minister-appointed Board and advised on Maori interests and knowledge by Te Puna, a statutory Maori Advisory Group.
Our responsibilities are to protect and promote drinking water safety and related public health outcomes - we regulate drinking water suppliers on behalf of the public .
We also have an oversight role in relation to the environmental performance of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater networks.

Job DescriptionOur Principal Advisor Portfolio and Planning leads the delivery of our organisation wide planning practice and the portfolio of strategic work across the Water Services Authority.
The Principal Advisor Portfolio and Planning will
Develop and lead organisational planning processes aligned with the budget cycle, the accountability planning process and external reporting requirements.Regularly monitor, report on and review portfolio progress to inform senior leadership of the health of projects and programmes within the organisationBuild and lead a collaborative PMO network amongst the programme and project staff, to support best practice in project and programme management and maintain the PMO Framework for Taumata ArowaiCollaborate with key internal stakeholders, providing advice to ensure alignment with organisational strategic priorities across planning approaches and activities, and effective management of broader programmes of work.Innovation and creativity are key drivers in the way we work - our size requires us to be smart and agile.
We are looking for someone who has
Knowledge of programme, portfolio management and strategic planning methodologiesExperience leading significant programmes of work in a programme management roleHighly developed interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to innovate and maintain a big picture focusAbility to mentor kaimahi in project and programme management, and planning methodologiesThis is a 12month fixed-term position to cover parental leave.
