The Principal Advisor - Financial Investment Oversight is a technical leadership position, and you will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the investment programmes and balance sheets of the Crown entities, Kainga Ora and Tamaki Regeneration Company that we monitor.

Social Housing Build programme (renewals and retrofits)The Principal Advisor is responsible for:
Leading advice on the financial sustainability of Kainga Ora including involvement in overseeing Kainga Ora Budget 2024 savingsLeading advice on financing requirements of Kainga Ora, including Ministerial advice on capital spending and progress against agreed deliverables.Contributing to any Government Budget requirements including reprioritisation and investment bids relating to the investment programmes of the entities that HUD monitorsOversight of the programme-specific monitoring and reporting received from Kainga Ora and Tamaki Regeneration Company to monitor delivery performance and risk.Contributing to uplifting the Ministry's maturity in programme and portfolio level reporting.Represent HUD at critical stakeholder meetings around delivery programmes including Social Housing Delivery and Large Scale Projects.Effective engagement with the Minister's office on critical programmes such as Large Scale Projects and Social Housing Build Programme.The salary range for this role is $141,632 - $173,105 + 3 per cent Kiwisaver contribution.

Strong communication skills in particular articulating complex issues to broad audiences including Ministers and Offices.Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and an understanding of key drivers of investment programmes and fiscal implications.Ability to stand back from immediate issues and take a broader and long-term view of situations.Self-motivation and able to manage own workload with a high degree of autonomy.Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with external stakeholders including the Treasury.The ability to operate and deliver when there is a level of ambiguity and data limitations.Chartered Accountant or equivalent.Mo matou | About us
