The Principal Adviser, Change, closely supports the Manager, Change, contributing thought leadership, technical support, and change expertise to the transformational change management of the government's priority work programme.
This is a new full-time BAU role, where you will influence internal teams and help our frontline Te Mahau teams with implementation supports for the Education work programme. You will understand the voices of front-line staff, akonga, whanau and communities and lead the provision of tailored change support to ensure the best outcomes.
You will work collaboratively to understand the impact of change on different parts of the sector, and ensure resources enable effective delivery of change into the sector. As a team, we will provide engagement and change frameworks, systems and processes that reflect tikanga values to give practical effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Salary range: $118,371 - $143,760 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

We're looking for someone who knows Change back to front and inside out. You will be a leader and mentor in Change to build and foster the growth in change capability across our group.
To be successful in this role, you will have led Change in a range of programmes and projects, so you know what good Change looks like. You'll be a great communicator, confident talking to a variety of stakeholders.

The Sector Change and Implementation Group supports Te Tahuhu (Ministry of Education) to successfully implement government initiatives, services and policies that impact the Education sector, our frontline takiwa (regional) staff and akonga and whanau. We partner with our takiwa colleagues to understand local context and priorities, and to support their leadership of successful change in the sector.
The Change Team supports Te Tahuhu, our group, and our regional teams with best practice change methods to support sector-facing implementation. We assess the impact of sector-facing change and ensure takiwa have what they need to support successful implementation.
