Primary School Caretaker

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Primary School Caretaker to join our team at Te Kura o Kimi Ora. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position involves a variety of tasks, including general maintenance, cleaning, and groundskeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on school facilities, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and outdoor areas.Cleaning: Ensure that all areas of the school are clean and well-maintained. This includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces.Safety Checks: Conduct regular safety inspections of the premises, reporting any hazards or issues to the School Business Manager.Groundskeeping: Maintain outdoor areas, including gardens, playgrounds, and sports fields. This may involve mowing, weeding, and seasonal landscaping.Repairs: Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including fixing furniture, plumbing, and electrical issues.Emergency Response: Act as a first responder in case of emergencies, ensuring the safety of students and staff.Qualifications:
Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably in an educational setting.Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques.Ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment safely.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift equipment as needed.A valid driving license may be required.
