Hilton Brown Swimming is growing and we are looking for committed and fun-loving individuals to join our team.
We provide FULL training to all our instructors. We hire people with great communication skills and a positive can-do attitude who have a love of helping others succeed. Then we train them to become the best swimming instructors possible. It is essential that you have a love of the water and enjoy interacting with children.
We are currently looking to train Instructors for the following roles:
Infant & Preschool Instructor: We are looking to train an instructor to teach our Infant and Preschool Programme on Sunday mornings. Our Infant swimmers are in the water with a parent or caregiver and range in age from 3 months to 3 years. Once they turn 3 years they move into our Preschool programme. This is an incredibly rewarding and fun position. As an Infant Instructor you will be passionate about teaching water confidence and safety and comfortable working with babies, toddlers and young children.
Learn to Swim Instructor: As a Learn to Swim Instructor you will be teaching preschool and school aged children the basics of swimming and water safety. You do not need to be an amazing swimmer, but you do need to have a passion for ensuring that the next generation of New Zealanders grow up being capable and confident in the water.
Stroke Development Coach: Our Stroke Programme is for those who can swim 25m to 400m plus. In these classes we work on all four strokes - butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. We focus on teaching correct swimming technique so that children feel confident in water and can swim at least 400m without stopping. Ideally a stroke instructor will have a background in competitive swimming and a sound knowledge of the correct technique of all four strokes. Initially we are looking for a Stroke Coach for Sunday mornings. There is the opportunity to pick up additional cover hours on weekday afternoons if desired.
