Our Christchurch team is looking for a Prepared Produce Assistant to Join their busy morning shift immediately. If you excel in fast-paced environments, enjoy hands-on work, and are eager to build a rewarding career in the fresh produce industry, this opportunity is for you.
 

Full-time permanent
Location: Woolston, Christchurch
Days: Sunday to Friday (5 days a week roster with two days off)
Hours: 8.00 am to 4.30 pm (Sunday's 7.00 am start)

The role:

Cleaning, washing, and processing fresh produce.
Grading, cutting, dicing, and peeling vegetables & fruits.
Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
Monitoring product quality before packaging by closely inspecting.
Operating machines to peel, core, slice, and dice fruits and vegetables.
Frequent use of processing machinery.
Vacuum packaging and labelling packed, prepared produce.
Clean equipment, pumps, hoses, storage tanks, vessels, and work area.
Strictly adhere to food safety standards and observe H&S protocols.

 
The person: 
Our ideal candidates will be someone with relevant experience in the Fresh Produce industry or warehousing/processing roles. You can work unsupervised to achieve results. Our Produce depot operates in a temperature-controlled environment; you would ideally be comfortable working in this environment, be physically fit and have the ability to lift some weights, up to 25 Kgs at times. .
 

Relevant experience in Fresh Produce industry/ warehouse processing role.
Be physically fit and able to lift up to 25kgs at times.
Ability to work in cold environment.
Good knife-handling skills are beneficial (not mandatory).
Hold valid class 1 full-driver license and own reliable transport.
Have intermediate literacy and numeracy skills.
Have basic knowledge of food ingredients.
Be hardworking and reliable and must possess good work ethics.
Be flexible with hours and an excellent team player.
